Summary/Abstract: This article aims to point out the use of aerial perspective in painting throughout centuries of art history. In this article I propose a broad observation of this painting technique from the subtler intervention to the base element of composition and the chromatic rules that derive. Although aerial or atmospheric perspective is rooted in landscape painting, we may encounter these techniques in other subjects and themes.
