The use of folk costumes in regional education (On the examples of the Kombornia’s folk costumes)

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to present theoretical and empirical content regarding folk costumes in teaching and upbringing proceses. In the first part, the key issues of the topic will be explained based on the literature analysis. Justifications will be provided for purposeful considerations of folk costumes in the education of students based on documents regulating the teaching and educational work of young people. The next part will present exploratory material in the form of statements by prof. Dr. hab. Kazimierz Szmyd from the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno, M.A. Bogusława Deliowska – Principal of the Primary School. prof. Stanisław Pigoń in Kombornia and students of grades VI–VIII of this school. The collected material was obtained using interview techniques and from chronicle documents.
