Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the importance of assistance in identifying the addresses of recipients and the rightof refusal in the context of EU Regulation 2020/1784. Assistance in determining unknown addresses, through designated authorities and electronic platforms, is essential for the efficiency of the cross-border service of judicial and extrajudicial documents in the Member States in civil or commercial matters. Additionally, the right of refusal, which allows the recipient to reject a document due to its linguistic regime, is crucial for protecting procedural rights. The regulation mandates that documents must be accompanied by appropriate translations and forms that inform recipients of their right to refuse. These mechanisms are designed to further accelerate the transmission and service of judicial and extrajudicial documents between the Member States in civil and commercial matters, while simultaneously safeguarding the rights of the recipients.
