Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is the identification of media violence and harmful influence through the trend of hypersexualization of women in the media space and social networks. The aim of the work is to determine the cause-effect relationships of the trend of hypersexualization and to what extent this trend is connected with the patriarchal matrix according to which women are subordinated to be subordinated to men. The symbiosis of media, social networks and users is based on certain social patterns, and one of the dominant ones is the sexual objectification of women and girls. The worrying fact is that this trend is transferred to minor girls who present themselves on social networks in explicit content with vulgar expressions. It is important to note that this trend does not only apply to posts targeting men, but also to those targeting women themselves. Such a focus on sexualized depictions may not seem strategic, given the body of evidence that suggests it is viewed quite negatively by women for imposing impossible standards, but the depiction of women and girls remains limited. They are presented as a finished product ready for the rough context of consumption. The result of such content creation is feedback that manifests misogyny and sexism, which makes this problem more complex and requires certain interventions. Such findings as a whole suggest that users who prefer hypersexualized content, as well as society itself, need to change the way they treat girls and women. Namely, excessive sexualization and stereotypes created about women and girls through social networks desensitize younger generations to misogynistic and violent behavior, allowing those who are new to social networks to think that this problem is okay, that it is taken for granted.
