Traditions and Innovations in Education

Summary/Abstract: In the article, education is considered as a social and cultural phenomenon aimed at the integrated development of the formation of personality in man. Although education is seen as a relatively conservative system, the educational ideal both in Bulgaria and in other countries has continuously changed in different historical stages. The challenges facing higher education and science in Bulgaria, as well as the latest European strategic documents related to higher education and science, were examined. The introduction of modern information technologies in education is one of the focal points of innovation efforts and modern education policy.
