Summary/Abstract: The higher pedagogical education in Bulgaria has undergone a remarkable transformation in last decade of XX century. The higher pedagogical education in Bulgaria has undergone a remarkable transformation in last decade of XX century. The aim of the article is to present the development and transformations of the higher pedagogical education. The analysis focuses upon the content of academic courses and the the reforms in the educational policy. The detailed analysis shows that the higher pedagogical education is being reformed, but also preserves some of the traditions.
