Summary/Abstract: The article examines Chinese government investments in some of the countries of the Balkan Peninsula and how they affect local economies. The purpose of the research is to trace to what extent the countries of the Balkan Peninsula cooperate with the People‘s Republic of China following the „One Belt, One Road“ initiative. The main methods used are the analysis of publications and documents and the processing of statistical data on the subject. Infrastructure projects that improve the connectivity of the Balkans and are part of the planned transport corridors connecting the Mediterranean to Western Europe, as well as investments in industrial production and the extractive industry, were examined.
