Summary/Abstract: An attempt has been made for a comparative analysis of the curricula of European higher education institutions for dental medicine with the curricula of the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Medical University in Sofia for the first and second semester courses on preclinical prosthetic dental medicine (PPDM). Evidence of the following advantages of the Faculty of Dental Medicine-Sofia is presented: 1. Mastering basic and specialized competencies is achieved as a result of implementing the curricula for PPDM for 1-2 semester. The curricula for 1-2 semester of PPDM are organized on the principle of STEM technology by mastering competencies in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. PPDM curricula for 1-2 semester support the creativity and critical thinking of students to work independently, taking into account a variety of teaching techniques and methods.
