Seal Items from the Archive Funds of the European Commission of the Danube (1856-1949)

Summary/Abstract: The article attempts a presentation of the seals used by the European Commission of the Danube (1856-1949), along its existence. The study also includes a brief historical account of the most important international institution that existed at the mouths of the Danube during the second half of the XIX-th century and the beginning of the XX-th. The seals and the seal matrices were identified within the archive fund of the European Commission of the Danube and in the „Seal Matrices” collection, both preserved at Galati County Service of the National Archives.
