EXAMPLES AND LITERATURE REVIEW OF LEAN MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS IN HEALTH SECTOR

Summary/Abstract: In recent times, where competitive conditions have become more difficult day by day, and traditional methods are not profitable enough, contemporary management techniques offer solutions that enable businesses to be more competitive and longer-lived. The Toyota production system, defined as a lean philosophy, makes significant contributions to the elimination of waste points that do not produce value in production businesses and to make businesses more competitive and longer-lived. This system, which is successful in the production sector, has started to be implemented in different sectors, such as the health sector. Lean philosophy applications can be used to improve customer waiting times, faulty interventions, high costs and many similar problematic areas in the healthcare industry. In this context, the study aims to examine lean healthcare services in national and international literature. As a result of the research, it was seen that the countries that published the most were the USA and the United Kingdom. most studies were written in the field of health and business, and the focus was on people and lean management concepts.
