Summary/Abstract: Yaşar Kemal, one of the important writers of Turkish literature, with his more than 40 works, starting from the Van Lake basin, the folklore, daily life, customs, tales, legends, epics, proverbs, lullabies, riddles, lugaz, folk songs of the people living in East - Southeastern Anatolia and Çukurova. It is a cultural treasure that reflects all its cultural elements, especially saying, weddings, lament, birth and death ceremonies. The cultural and artistic life of the Anatolian people is also reflected in Yaşar Kemal's works through folk songs, tales, legends, elegies, riddles, lullabies and folk tales. He is someone who carries the Anatolian people to the level of literature. In his works, it is possible to see the pure and innocent nature of the Anatolian people, as well as the violent personality stemming from feudalism and custom. Since Yaşar Kemal is one of the representatives of the social realist novel in our literature, the subjects he deals with can be read as a reflection of the social life of every segment of Turkish society. In his works, besides the pure and innocent nature of the Anatolian people, it is possible to see the great poverty that emerged due to the unjust income distribution arising from the feudal structure. It is possible to see the poverty and helplessness of the people of Çukurova in many of his novels. In particular, The Other Side of the Mountain Novel Series (Ortadirek / The Other Side of the Mountain - I, Yer Demir Gök Bakır / The Other Side of the Mountain - II and Ölmez Grass / The Other Side of the Mountain - III) reflect the difficulty of living conditions of the people of Çukurova and their efforts to cling to life. In the novels, themes such as the exploitation order brought by the feudal system, economic injustice, superstition, belief exploitation, human-nature relationship, political oppression and social violence are also given as sub-themes. In this work, the ordeals of Anatolian people in the three novels of Yaşar Kemal's The Other Side of the Mountain Novel Series and their efforts to hold on to life will be analyzed in the context of Marxist Critical Theory.
