Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the representations of masculinity in the film “Beau travail” (France, 1999), directed by Claire Denis, with a special attention to the male body as a pivotal element of the film’s imagery. The analysis aims to explore masculinity, taking into account the postcolonial condition, which implies a substantial reconfiguration of gender roles within a new geopolitical and axiological paradigm.
