Summary/Abstract: Seeking to examine some aspects of personality and its grammatical realisation in Bulgarian language, the article cites and briefly comments on a number of examples in which the Bulgarian word for ‘male cat, tomcat’ is used — contrary to what the normative rules require — as a personal noun. In light of stylistics, this specific use is considered as personification.
