Empathy is an essential quality of the counselor and refers to the ability to perceive the feelings, emotions of the interlocutor, his way of thinking and behaving, without identifying with him and without judging. The most important quality of an effective advisor is authenticity. Authenticity means that the counsellor does not play a role, he remains himself in the relationship with the client.
