Summary/Abstract: The paper presents a brief overview of the life and work of Professor Dr. Velizar Nedović, one of the most prominent figures in the field of pedagogy and education in general in Serbia. His personality and numerous works marked the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. In his works, he had visionary ideas of the development of education in Serbia and pointed out the shortcomings that he saw in pedagogical practice. He has left behind more than 150 scientific and professional papers used in teacher education and improving practice in schools.
