The educational phenomenon “digital education” is the newest concept of education in the digital age, introduced in response to the contemporary world’s issues and the priority of national and international educational policies reflected in official documents. The article aims to explore the theoretical foundation for positioning digital education within the realm of emerging educational practices. This endeavor is based on thorough scientific research, analysis of relevant documents and curricular reforms, examination of the European and national educational policies' strategic directions, as well as the formulation of strategies tailored to meet the new educational and training requirements imposed by the digital era. Digital education assumes a paramount significance in shaping the future trajectory of the educational system, guaranteeing the cultivation of indispensable proficiencies in an ever more digitized world.
