Summary/Abstract: Psychologists' desire to find a logical thread in the complicated subjective world of emotions eventually led them to the concept of emotional intelligence. Although apparently paradoxical and still quite controversial, this concept quickly became very popular and today meets a consensus that was hard to hope for a few decades ago. In this article, the concept of emotional intelligence will not only be contrasted with the concept of general intelligence, thinking, reason or consciousness, but will be approached especially from the perspective of the role it plays in the complicated process of triggering, manifesting, but also resolving conflicts between students, within the school.
