Summary/Abstract: The Polish science of administration developed in the 19th century, especially in its second half, which was due to the inspiration from the concepts of German and French scientists. First, it is worth pointing out the views of A. Okolski, J.B. Oczapowski and F. Kaspark and T. Pilat, who were the first in Polish science to separate the concepts of both the science of administrative law and the science of administration. Their achievements include both legal and non-legal approaches to the science of administration. The aim of the article is to indicate the influence of the views expressed at that time on the concepts of later and current scholars. It should be recognized that the views discussed fit into the classic approach to the science of administration, also shared today by some scholars. It is worth noting that the very concept of administration science is currently understood in various ways, so recalling this 19th-century approach seems to be extremely important.
