Summary/Abstract: The triduum paschale represents the highlight of the whole liturgical year. Whereas the contents of the first day (Good Friday) and the third, concluding day (Easter Sunday) are on the whole wellknown, Holy Saturday remains more on the margin of attention. That is why this study offers a view of the theological content (the descensus ad inferos) and of the liturgical celebration (Liturgia horarum) of the second day of the Easter triduum.
