Summary/Abstract: The author Mihaela Grancea is a PhD professor at the Faculty of History and Patrimony of the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu. She is actively involved in various branches of the history of collective mentalities, historiography, cultural history (18th-19th centuries), oral history and recent history. She has a complex professional career, distinguished by a rich publishing activity. Some of her published books are listed below: ,,A history of universal and Romanian historiography” (Sibiu: Techno Media, 2009), ,,Today's past: tradition and innovation in Romanian culture” (Cluj-Napoca: Casa Cărții de Știința, 2009), ,,Representations of death in Romania during the communist era: three studies of funerary anthropology” (Cluj-Napoca: Casa Cărții de Știința, 2007). The latest book published is “History and film: studies of cultural history, a book that will also be the subject of this review”.
