Summary/Abstract: The parallel analysis of two discursive institutions fundamental for the Greek and Latin space is relevant for the internal dynamics of these cultures, for the functions and sought identity profile. The main historiographical models investigated on different cultural ages reveal major differences concerning the symbolic mechanisms of reference to real and of construction of a self-image.
