Summary/Abstract: Our attempt brings to attention, in the form of short and interesting curiosities, several successful industrial firms established in Oradea during the dual monarchy. The interval was marked by a more rapid development of the relation and production capitalist forces and by the intensification of the production and circulation of commodities. The province did not lose its role as a provider of resources for the center. Industrial objectives were founded, especially with the support of capital invested by the Jewish population. During the First World War, the economy experienced a setback – the number of industrialists decreased substantially, the factory proletariat being concentrated and sent to the front. What was left of the industry mostly served the needs of the war. The events of 1918 seriously left their mark on the evolution of the sector, marked by instability and disorganization. The other economic branches did not escape the destructive effect of the war.
