Summary/Abstract: The article presents the profiles of the blessed beatified by John Paul II in 1999, during a pilgrimage to Poland, whose biographies include involvement in the implementation of the missionary idea in pre-war Po land. Missionary pastoral care had an important place at that time in polish Church. The 108 Blessed Martyrs included two bishops, five priests from different dioceses and six members of religious congregations who, in fulfilling their vocation, also served missionary work. Their fate shows that service to the missionary work and interest in it accompanied priestly zeal, broadly understood and experienced. The sacrifice of life they made became their contribution to fulfilling the mission that the Church sent to the world was carrying out at that time and is still carrying out today.
