Summary/Abstract: There is an assumption that children are creative by nature. Hence, in order to properly understand and support the creativity of students, students and future educators should be creative themselves. The article deals with the research issues concerning students’ opinions on creativity and selected elements of the creativity development process in the initial stage of academic education. The main subject of the research are issues related to the recognition of students’ knowledge regarding the ability to define basic concepts related to creativity, creativity, creative thinking, factors shaping creativity in childhood and the assessment of students’ own creativity and their expectations from academic teachers. The study involved students of preschool education and early childhood education (6–9) with educational therapy.
