Children’s Interests in their Early School Age on the Example of Regional Schools

Summary/Abstract: The article constitutes a theoretical outline of research on children’s interests in their early school age and a presentation of the results of empirical research. The research was conducted in several schools situated in one of Wielkopolska regions. The entire study focuses on problems connected with external and internal factors of human growth which influence children’s interests both during lessons at school and in their spare time. What allows to create an individualized process of interests under the influence of school environment, peer groups and family on respective choices made by children in terms of things and activities. In the study the aims of research and resulting categories were also shown. The article indicates the necessity of a versatile support of children’s interests and activities to offer them bigger opportunities in their adult life plans.
