THE EUROPEAN FUNCTION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND

Summary/Abstract: Polish membership in the EU has made it necessary to analyze the powers of some bodies from an EU perspective. One source of this is EU law, which incorporates constitutional bodies into the structures of EU bodies, while another is tied to national regulations, which must be interpreted in a way that is friendly to EU law. This article off ers an investigation into whether the President has the so-called European function and what is its essence. The aim is also to indicate certain powers of the President in the fi eld of European Policy. The consequence of these analyses is to determine the scope of the European function of the President and the essence of this function based on cooperation with the Council of Ministers.
