Summary/Abstract: The article considers the translation by Wiktor Woroszylski of various types of intertextual elements included by Iosif Brodski in his poem Два часа в резервуаре (In English – Two hours in the tank). Regardless of the different translation decisions and noticeable associative shifts that concern specific intertextual elements, the translation as a whole should be considered successful. Nevertheless, in the course of the analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that in the case of an intertextualized text (one that is saturated with intertextual elements), the preservation in the translation of the associative chains that make up the network of intertextual associations is more important than the adequacy of the specific elements of the text.
