Summary/Abstract: During last few years depopulation became a phenomenon more visible in Polish cities. The motivation of people to leave a family town is to improve living and working conditions. Cities can respond to demographic processes in a significant way by using proper instruments of the housing policy. The purpose of the author was to present these urban housing policy instruments, which are used to reduce the phenomenon of depopulation. The most frequently used ones are presented as well as innovative solutions, which are an attempt to solve specific problems of selected cities.
