Short Description
Konwersatorium Wiedzy o Mieście (Urban Knowledge Conversatory) is a journal whose origins date back to the 1980s when the publishing series of the same title began to appear. The following monographs in this series were the result of the annual urban conferences inaugurated over 30 years ago by prof. Stanisław Liszewski, which was attended by the most outstanding geographers, sociologists, economists, architects and urban planners from all academic centres in Poland as well as from abroad.
The title of the journal is a brand recognisable among researchers of cities and regions. A large number of citations of published articles confirms its wide reception in the scientific community.
In 2016, the publishing series was transformed into the journal Konwersatorium Wiedzy o Mieście, which, as a continuation of the previous series, will appear in the form of a yearbook.
Aims and Scope
Konwersatorium Wiedzy o Mieście is an interdisciplinary scientific journal. It is one of the few publications in Poland intended for researchers representing a variety of disciplines and dealing with urban issues, first of all for geographers, economists, sociologists, architects and urban planners and other representatives of social sciences. Published papers are theoretical, review, empirical and methodological. The journal mostly presents the findings of the latest empirical studies on contemporary phenomena regarding a wide range of urban studies in Poland and other CEE countries, including their local specificity and local context.
The journal presents only texts which have not been published anywhere before: theoretical, research, review papers and scientific notes, containing partial findings of original empirical research, as well as reviews, reports and contributions to debates.
