The Tourist Application “Lodz Stadiums at your Fingertips”: A Functionality Evaluation

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to evaluate the functionality of an application showing the availability of services and infrastructure around the two largest stadiums in Lodz, based on the idea of a 15-minute city. The application was made using ArcGIS Online software. To create it, data from the resource of the Database of Topographic Objects (BDOT10k) was used. The key assumption in creating the application was the proposal to provide tourists and the fans of two football clubs in Lodz (LKS and Widzew) with the location of a wide range of services within 15 minutes of the stadiums. The functionality of the application was evaluated using scoring and an expert method on the basis of extracted criteria assigned to fi e categories of functionality, determined on the basis of functional requirement features. The application was evaluated as interesting, useful and well-functioning. Among its greatest strengths are the map view, its navigation and item search. A weaker element is the display of information about items, but this could be improved in the future. As an innovative tourist product, the application could be an interesting idea for tourists, fans as well as residents of Lodz.
