Summary/Abstract: Orliki’, a widely accessible complex of sports fields with artificial turf, were intended primarily for children and teenager. They are facilities that serve different roles (including educational, recreational, sports) and in urban space, their function is specific and proper use is essential, as they are complementary or competitive with other sports and recreational facilities. The aim of the article is to analyze the functioning of the ‘orliki’ in Częstochowa, with particular emphasis on the impact of various forms of accessibility and development possibilities. The conducted qualitative research, including physical inventory, expert interviews, and active and passive observations, has made it possible to assess the impact of activities on their condition in 2022 and to identify problems related to their maintenance. As a result of the analyzes, the authors have proposed potential areas in Częstochowa that should be used for the development of sports and recreational infrastructure, and indicated opportunities to change the management of ‘orliki’ so that it may contribute to the optimization of use and maintenance.
