The Way to Babel

Summary/Abstract: Language is a delicate matter; nevertheless, the author thinks that the fear that some languages are spreading too much or other languages get lost are exaggerated, even ill-fated, especially when they reflect political views – such as considering English an “assassin language” because of its worldwide use, as if English were a kind of epidemics that makes all the other languages fall silent. A lost battle is also to try and avoid foreign influences as no language has been born completely pure.
