History and historians in the perspective of longue durée. Some remarks on the historiographical contexts of the war in Ukraine

Summary/Abstract: The author of the essay draws attention to the role of Polish, Russian and Ukrainian historians in understanding the category of Central and Eastern Europe. The author presents and argues the thesis that the discussion on the war in Ukraine takes place in an intellectual atmosphere of clichés taken, among others, from 19th-century historiography.
