Summary/Abstract: The article approximates the current development of the Green Deal for Europe and its socio-political aspects. Recent protests by farmers have reminded us that the measures contained in the Green Deal for Europe may not be politically acceptable for many Europeans. We can expect that the results of the upcoming elections to the European Parliament will reflect a strengthening of support for moderating or even cancelling the Green Deal. Thus, with respect to the acceptability of climate policies, the EU should focus on its commitment to leave no one behind in the green transition. However, the EU lacks the powers and the funds for such an ambitious climate and social policy. If the climate policy is to be accepted by EU citizens, member states must guarantee a sufficiently strong social network and accessibility to public services for all. However, the Czech government is currently taking steps that are completely against this approach. The policy of financial cuts is a real threat to the enforcement of climate policies.
