Summary/Abstract: As negotiations of new legislation progress, this paper highlights key trends, dilemmas and challenges regarding regulation of workplace artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is emblematic of countries in the EU’s economic semi-periphery, hoping that the ongoing twin transition will allow it to finally “catch up” with its richer counterparts. As the paper claims, this accent on competitiveness and innovations may lead to at least a partial decrease of workers’ rights, as there is usually a trade-off between the two.
