Professor Pavli Haxhillazi - an important figure in Albanological studies

Summary/Abstract: The object of this article is the exposition of the original contribution of Prof. Em. Dr. Pavli Haxhillazi in Albanian linguistic studies, in the collection of the Albanian lexical treasure, in the writing of the Albanian language dictionaries, alongside many other scholars and lexicographers at the Institute of Linguistics and Literature from 1960 until 2010. His contribution on these fields is known by many specialists of Albanian language studies in Albania, Kosova and other countries interested in Albanian lexicography, lexicology and semantics. In addition, the purpose of this paper is a panoramic presentation of the vision and the values of Professor Pavli Haxhillazi for everyone interested in these fields. Prof. Haxhillazi will continue to be a great role model for future generations of scholars who remain open to new methodologies and perspectives.
