Summary/Abstract: The popular Christianity among Albanians and Romanians is still longing for a systematic comparative research. An aspect worth of further attention is place of saints in the popular culture of the two peoples, in their folk calendar. Let’s take for example the role of wolfs protector named San Martin - San (Sfant(ul)) Martin, Martinist). Albanians celebrate St. Martin on 11 and 12 November. Romanians celebrate this day not only on 12-14 November (Martinii de Toamna, “Martins of Autumn”), but also in February (on 1-3, Martinii de larna “Martins of Winter”) and in summer (August 22) Martinul “Martini”).
