Summary/Abstract: The article aims at presenting the main issues related to the EU’s current energy policy, among others global warming prevention, creation of an internal market for electricity and natural gas, as well as ensuring security of energy supplies. The author discusses new regulations and initiatives in the field of the European energy policy, taken under the third liberalisation package, the climate and energy package and The Second Strategic Energy Review.
