Diversification of gas supplies in Poland and Europe.

Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the European market for natural gas. It begins with reviewing the current estimates of proved reserves of gas. In the next section the European market is evaluated in terms of production, consumption, diversification. The factors affecting the gas imports are also discussed. The final section addresses the aforementioned issues from a Polish perspective. The article concludes with an overview of various options for diversification of gas supply sources in Poland.
