Summary/Abstract: The article is the result of a preliminary study of the distribution of the canons for the two feasts of archangel Gabriel in the Menaion – March 26 and July 13. The question has been raised about the possible reasons for the emergence of variants of the canons for the March 26 Service, which depends both on the Annunciation as well as on the moveable feast cycle and the prescriptions for it in the Typikon (chapters of Mark). The variants themselves are illustrated with examples, on the basis of which an assumption is made whether they are the product of redactions or separate translations. A parallel text has been published on two transcripts of a rare translation canon discovered in the study of services for the archangel Gabriel.
