Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of two services composed by Gregory Ciamblak in honour of two martyrs – St. Stefan Dečanski and St. John the New of Suceava – during his stay in Serbia and Moldavia respectively. The formal features of these two services allow us to think that the former was composed earlier than the latter, which was written with greater hymnographic skills. This conclusion, in turn, helps to clarify the controversial issue of the sequence of Tsamblak’s stay in Serbia and Moldavia.
