Summary/Abstract: An author's report from a long-term study, which presents the observed changes in Armenia and trends in the development of relations with the CSTO and, more specifically, bilateral relations with Russia. The transformation of relations with Armenia's neighboring countries has been traced. A transformation has been established in the relations between Armenia and the USA, as well as with some of the member states of the European Union. The research highlights a particular type of relationship between the political elites of Armenia and Russia - polarity and asymmetry. The observed processes of polarity and asymmetry are a concrete consequence of the lack of support in the latest conflict with Azerbaijan and the behavior of the political component of the CSTO and Russia
