Summary/Abstract: It is known that the Turkish language, inherited from generation to generation among Turks living in Germany for four generations, is becoming less used, while the dominant language, German, is increasingly adopted by Turks. This study examines the language use preferences of bilingual or multilingual second and third-generation Turks living in Germany and aims to determine the extent to which Turkish is used. Designed as a case study, one of the qualitative research designs, the data for this research were obtained from a survey conducted with 203 people born in Germany and living in the cities of Cologne and Hückelhoven. The collected data were tabulated using Microsoft Excel and interpreted using descriptive analysis. The findings of the research indicate that Turkish is mostly used among family and relatives but generally falls behind German in daily language use. It was found that participants express themselves best in German and that a significant proportion of participants use a mixture of Turkish and German.
