Summary/Abstract: Monitoring, deliberate practicing and then assessing students’ performance and achievements are an integral part of teaching process. There are different implementation models of the abovementioned activities and one of them is dictation. There are several types of dictation and they are used to practice/check the adoption of grammar and spelling rules, but also to improve the writing technique. Previous research established that methodologists have different opinions about this type of written exercise: for some these are useful exercises, with educational value, while for others they are outdated, without individualization. This paper will offer us answers to the questions about experiences of students in lower elementary teaching with writing dictations in the teaching of Bosnian language, what difficulties they encounter and what kind of feelings it evokes in them.
