Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to present theoretical and contemporary views on children's emotional and social development in the period between 4 and 6 years. Some interrelationships between the emotional and social spheres during overall development are also discussed. The possibilities and characteristics of children's communications are also being discussed including also in the context of group work. This article provides a discussion of children's abilities to express their emotions and feelings and how they distinguish emotional states in others and themselves.
