Summary/Abstract: Education and qualification needs in the area of skills required for thermalmodernization of buildings were identified as part of research conducted in the BUILD UP Skills IIPoland project, co-financed by the European Commission under the LIFE-2021-CET-BUILSKILLSprogram. The aim of the research was to provide data to modernize the 2013 National Road Mapfor the development of skills and qualifications in the area of energy efficiency and renovationof buildings. The methodology used included the analysis of documents and other existingdata, a survey of educational and qualification needs, a Delphi study of competence gaps inthe 2030 perspective, and individual interviews focused on barriers in acquiring skills relatedto the renovation and thermal modernization of buildings. It was concluded that there isa need to review the educational content and learning outcomes of dozens of core curriculafor vocational education in various trades, identified the content and learning outcomes thatneed to be updated, listed the skill areas that determine the successful implementation of theLong-term Strategy for Building Renovation, the skills gaps in the 2030 perspective and theeducational and qualification barriers that should be minimised in the recommendations of theupdated National Road Map.
