Summary/Abstract: Migration, with its significant social, economic, and political impacts, has historically driven countries to engage extensively and formulate various policies on this matter. Anatolia, in its historical context, has experienced numerous migrations that have shaped its political, social, and cultural landscape. Particularly during the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire, various migration waves marked by forced displacement and escape from atrocities, such as forced migrations and massacres, flowed from the Balkans towards Anatolia. Bulgaria's irredentist policies post-1878 and its attempts to rid itself of its Turkish population domestically significantly influenced Turkish migration to Anatolia both before and after the establishment of the Republic. This study primarily focuses on the Turkish migration resulting from Bulgaria's abrupt decision in 1950-1951, examining the challenges faced by migrants regarding settlement and sustenance in Ankara and the efforts aimed at transforming them into self-sustaining individuals. The choice of Ankara, where migrants were most densely settled, enables a broader perspective in assessing the encountered issues and the conducted activities within the research framework.
