Summary/Abstract: The effects of music on human nature continue to be a popular topic. Music, which has been used for ritual purposes since prehistoric times, has taken on different forms today. Nowadays, music is performed in every environment where people exist. Therefore, the issue of music consumption constitutes one of the main arguments in academic discussions. The performance of music in a certain order continues to attract the attention of those working in the field of archaeo-music. Today, the regular/irregular pitch of music, vocal training, notation, and harmony have spurred attempts to find origins. In this regard, our most important source of information is Ancient Greek music. Vase paintings from this period and sources from ancient authors provide very important information. These sources are also extremely critical in the creation of iconographies of musical instruments. We will examine our work in the light of these sources and look at the aforementioned problematics. In light of the findings, we can say that Ancient Greek music was very influential in the origin of modern European music systems.
