Summary/Abstract: Clothing is one of the most basic human needs along with food, sleep, water and shelter. For this reason, clothing emerged with the existence of human beings and has reached today by having gone through various changes and transformations from the past to the present. When looking at historical processes, it is seen that in the early times, people dressed to cover themselves and protect their bodies against natural conditions, and in later times, as people’s civilization and cultural levels changed, different meanings and functions were attributed to the clothing. Clothing, which concerns every member of society and constitutes an inseparable part of material culture, has an important place in Cossack culture, as in many cultures. These Cossacks, who emerged in the 15th-16th century and generally consist of Slavs coming from Ukraine and Russia, live in the border regions. They ensure the security of the borders by performing military service. The Cossacks, a warrior society, also have their own unique lifestyle and clothing style. On this axis, the purpose of this study is to discuss how Cossack women dressed in the 19th-20th century and to examine the factors that affected the formation of Cossack women’s clothing style. In our study, literature review and scoping review, which are qualitative research methods, were used. The lack of research on Cossack women’s clothing style in Türkiye necessiated this study. At the end of this study, it came to the conclusion that intercultural interaction of Cossacks with Tatars, Turks, Russians and Caucasian people, climate and religion affected the formation of unique clothing style of Cossack women. Another conclusion we reached in our study was that intercultural interaction, climate and religion led to both diversity and richness in the clothing of Cossack women.
