Summary/Abstract: Language, a powerful phenomenon developed by humans, is highly influential on societies. Identifying the origin of the concepts used in the context of the history of administration can also provide insight into the administrative philosophy of societies. For this reason, villages, which have a critical role in the traditional period, are important. The aim of the research is to find the usage areas of the administrative language constructed in Turkish history in the village. When the literature is examined, although the names and concepts in the history of Turkish administration are included in dictionaries, there is not enough information about how they are used in Turkish village working life. In order to overcome this deficiency, a field study was conducted between May 2018 and September 2023. The population of the research consists of the villages of Tortum, Uzundere, Oltu, Narman and Olur districts of Erzurum province. Sampling was used due to the difficulty of reaching every point of the universe. The sample was formed by reaching one village in each of these districts. The research was prepared using participant observation technique, one of the data collection techniques of ethnography. As a result of the research; the meanings of the names and concepts of Hun, kagan, kurgan, Oguz, banner, hearth, fief, yoke and coin in the traditional Turkish village have revealed the results that can be considered important in terms of Turkish administrative history.
